AT&T Global Smart Messaging Suite Enables Organizations to Easily Conduct SMS/Email Campaigns

AT&T Now Offers a Global, Scalable Cross-carrier SMS Application Platform

Dallas, Texas, October 06, 2010

Business and government organizations can now more easily communicate via SMS to mobile subscribers globally with the AT&T Global Smart Messaging Suite. AT&T* is providing a messaging application that enables organizations to use SMS in new ways, or as a more effective and efficient communications tool for reaching employees, partners and consumers.

Organizations can use the AT&T Global Smart Messaging Suite for virtually any SMS or e-mail messaging-related activities to reach employees, customers and business partners on a domestic or global scale. This AT&T cross-carrier messaging application can support a variety of uses spanning employee communications, business continuity, mobile marketing and branding, staffing and job placement, scheduling and appointment reminders.

AT&T Global Smart Messaging Suite is a web-based software-as-a-service platform for SMS and e-mail, accessible from virtually any internet connection. It provides inbound and outbound SMS and e-mail messaging capabilities, as well as permissions control to allow access and cost control for multiple workgroups. It also provides powerful reporting, archiving and analysis tools. AT&T Global SMS can easily integrate with existing messaging systems and no additional development is required.

For example, Gonzaga University is implementing AT&T Global SMS in order to better and more conveniently communicate with students, alumni, faculty, staff and the entire community.

Gonzaga’s immediate use of the application is to provide a platform for its website’s “Ask Spike” technology to communicate with constituents via texting. Gonzaga is working to transform the university’s mascot into a “Virtual Expert” that is capable of responding to inbound texts as well as sending texts to constituents who have opted-in.

“AT&T’s platform enables Spike to provide assistance to our constituents on the go, on demand and 24 hours a day in a unique and user-friendly manner,” said Dave Sonntag, Gonzaga Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Communications.

“As enterprise customers expand globally, their messaging needs have evolved to become more sophisticated,” said Michael Antieri, President, Advanced Enterprise Mobility Solutions, AT&T Business Solutions. “Our customers are seeking scalable, managed solutions that can address the needs of multiple unrelated workgroups. They need SMS to be compatible across multiple carriers and are asking for a managed solution that can provide a primary point of contact for technical support and the entire business process. AT&T Global Smart Messaging Suite meets this need and represents an exciting evolution for AT&T, as the solution utilizes our industry relationships and SMS experience gained over six years of supporting enterprise messaging for our largest customers.”

AT&T will provide assistance to customers that have never used or are unfamiliar with SMS in navigating the often complicated landscape of getting started as well as in understanding how short codes, long codes and messaging campaigns can be used effectively.

AT&T Global SMS is available today from AT&T. There are several pricing options available based on usage needs. For more information visit AT&T Smart Messaging Suite or contact your AT&T sales representative.
