Jane White, Product Marketing Manager at Soprano, discussed with UC Today the best practices to protect organizations from being a victim of cybercrime and the biggest challenges they face when trying to prevent fraud.

  • What are the biggest challenges that organizations face when trying to prevent fraud?
  • What are the key features of Soprano’s security solutions?
  • Why should organizations come to Soprano to help them prevent fraud?

“Fraud is very difficult to protect against because it’s always changing. Technology evolves so quickly that new vulnerabilities open up. Besides, cyber-criminals level up their fraud schemes, organize better and work as a team to smash systems that can affect millions of people”, Jane said.

For these reasons, businesses should stay ahead and constantly look for new ways of protecting against fraud. According to Jane White, “By having a strong technology partner that can help you forecast major themes and fraud trends, you will have a better chance of protecting your customer data, reputation, and all those things that are extra high stakes for Enterprises”.

When asked about security’s importance, Jane referred to a castle metaphor. “In the security world, the compliance side is you have a big moat around a castle, a dragon and a bunch of foot soldiers protecting it. Your security measures to protect from attacks, but the castle itself isn’t secure or safe if the floors are weak, the roofs and the balconies are decrepit, and the stairwells are steep. That’s why having that strong scale and infrastructure is so important, especially if many people live in the castle.”

At Soprano, security is a question of scale and compliance. “Soprano has some of the largest messaging deployments in the world for industries like healthcare and finance. We work hard to be a secure messaging platform for large enterprises.”, she said.

“Everybody needs to look for a partner with a holistic view of the vulnerabilities in their communication chains. It’s not just about protecting with strong passwords; you need to work with people whose network carrier partners are reliable, have good reputations, and are secure.”, Jane mentioned.
