Sydney, May 2024 – Soprano Leading the Way in APAC as Enterprises Embrace Next-Generation Telco-Powered Authentication Solutions
Australian automated communications technology company, Soprano Design is leading APAC after launching Singapore’s first telco-based authentication solution on Singapore networks.
As enterprises across the Asia-Pacific region seek alternative authentication options to complement SMS one-time passwords, Soprano’s solutions leverage telco network data and public-key cryptography to deliver more secure, low-friction alternatives — namely, silent network authentication and passkeys.
These solutions are already live in Singapore, where Soprano was first to market with telco API-driven authentication and are now gaining interest from enterprise customers in Australia and regional supply telco partners.
Andrew Fry, SVP of Partnerships and Product Marketing at Soprano Design said: “Across APAC, we’re seeing some of the largest banking and finance institutions complement SMS-based OTP with authentication methods that are frictionless and more secure, to combat the rise in fraud.”
“Soprano was the first CPaaS provider to launch telco-based authentication solutions – silent network authentication – in Singapore. Now we’re working closely with leading telcos in Australia to bring these next-generation capabilities to local enterprises ready to complement SMS OTP and provide their customers with more secure, frictionless authentication experiences.”
Andrew Fry, SVP of Partnerships and Product Marketing, Soprano Design.
As social engineering-based security threats grow, authentication methods that are based on OTP are increasingly targeted by bad actors, hence alternative authentication methods are fast becoming a priority all enterprises.
The addition of telco API auth complements existing soprano suite which includes passkey device-based authentication such as fingerprint, facial recognition and PIN. Soprano makes all these capabilities available through a single API, immediately accessible for all enterprises.
“For telcos, we’re helping bring their native network API capabilities to market and aggregate Telco API access for enterprise organisations regionally. We’re delivering ready-to-use authentication solutions that improve security, reduce friction and improve the digital experience they provide their customers with.”
Andrew Fry, SVP of Partnerships and Product Marketing, Soprano Design.
By integrating directly with telco APIs, Soprano enables silent, real-time identity verification at the network level — delivering stronger protection against fraud without adding friction for end users.
