Soprano Named Finalist for 2008 Asia Mobile Awards for Best Mobile Enterprise Product or Service

Soprano Design Limited, the leading Australian developer and provider of mobile and wireless messaging solutions, today announced that the GSM Association has selected the SOPRANO Mobile Enterprise Messaging Suite (MEMS) as a finalist for the 2008 Asia Mobile Awards in the category of Best Mobile Enterprise Product or Service.

Run by the GSM Association (GSMA), the global trade association representing 700 GSM mobile phone operators across 218 countries of the world, the Asia Mobile Awards is the premier award for leadership of mobile content, products and services across Asia. Judged by independent analysts, journalists and industry experts, SOPRANO MEMS was selected from over 120 entries to be named a Finalist in the 2008 Asia Mobile Awards.

“SOPRANO MEMS has enjoyed great success since its launch with some of the largest MNOs, financial institutions, government departments, hospitality, logistics and manufacturing organisations adopting our solution.” said Dr Richard Favero, CEO, Soprano Design. “It is a great honour to be recognised by mobile industry leaders for our leadership and innovation in the field.”

With regard to why he thinks that SOPRANO MEMS was shortlisted Richard provides the following statement:

“Currently market offerings only offer basic messaging services such as sending SMS broadcasts and SMS Inbound services, which are not tailored to and not sufficient for the messaging needs of an entire Enterprise. What is unique about SOPRANO MEMS is that it is a suite of mobile messaging applications that are specifically designed to meet the mobile communication needs of the entire enterprise. These applications automate common but repetitive business communications processes allowing enterprises to leverage the power of mobile messaging to turn 2-way interactions into real and meaningful business conversations.”

With over 14 years of expertise and innovation in the design and development of world leading software for the mobile and wireless industry, Soprano is an Australian Company with a strong focus on providing real business value to mobile network operators, enterprises and businesses.

The winners of the GSMA’s Asia Mobile Awards will be presented on Tuesday 18 November during the GSMA’s Mobile Asia Congress gala opening party at the Venetian Macao Resort Hotel in Macau.
