Soprano’s best month ever: Awards, acquisitions, and recognition

Deloitte just announced the 50 fastest-growing companies in Australia for 2014, and we’re one of them.

Our growth rate of 97 percent over the past two years places us in the 2014 Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Australia, which recognises Australian companies that have consistently achieved the fastest rates of annual revenue growth.

Now in its 14th year, the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 recognises and profiles Australian technology companies, public or private, that have achieved the fastest rates of annual revenue growth (based on percentage revenue growth over the past three years).

The Australian program is part of the global Deloitte Technology Fast 500 program run in parallel with over 20 other countries around the world.

Soprano’s rapid growth also places us in the 2014 Deloitte Technology Fast 500™ Asia Pacific, which compares growth rates among technology companies from Australia, China (including Hong Kong), India, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore and Taiwan.

Awards, Acquisitions, and Launches

The Fast 50 and Fast 500 recognitions cap off a banner couple of months for Soprano. Not only did we acquire Spanish mobile messaging provider SITmobile, we won an Appsters award and an iAward.

We also launched secure enterprise mobile messaging app SOPRANO GAMMA, which helps businesses make an orderly transition from SMS to a secure, rich multimedia IP-based messaging experience without sacrificing the reach that only SMS provides.

About Matt Thompson

Matt joined Soprano in 2013 to create and lead Soprano’s global product management and marketing efforts across all regions, including Asia, Australia, Europe, LATAM and the US. He helps shape and execute Soprano’s product strategy both globally and with individual regions and MNO partners. He oversees Soprano’s carrier revenue acceleration model, which includes direct involvement in new product launch activities, carrier-branded industry websites, B2B digital marketing campaigns, and ongoing product marketing.

Matt brings more than 10 years of diverse leadership experience in the mobile messaging industry, with significant global product management success launching products for US mobile operators. His domain expertise in the wireless industry spans the enterprise mobile messaging landscape to include network-based wireless messaging and voice services as well as global wireless M2M (machine-to-machine) and the Internet of Things.

Prior joining Soprano he spent 8 years in B2B product management and product marketing with AT&T, Clearwire, and Nuance Communications. Matt has also founded and run two successful small businesses, and he holds an MBA from the Terry College of Business, University of Georgia and a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Colorado. He lives and works in Seattle, Washington.
